Alternative Dispute Resolution
Alternative Dispute Resolution, or ADR, is the term used to describe alternative methods to litigation. As trained attorneys and mediators, we work to resolve disputes between parties through mediation, arbitration, and negotiation.
Mediation is a process through which parties voluntarily discuss solutions with the help of a neutral mediator with the hope of coming to a mutual, non-binding decision. Arbitration on the other hand is very much like a trial, and requires the same amount of preparation as the arbitrator's decision is binding. In Negotiation, there is no third party, the parties attempt to reconcile their differences one on one.
As trained attorneys and mediators, we help parties stay in control of the process and outcomes, with the goal of avoiding the often costly and time-consuming alternatives of litigation. In an environment built on respect and open communication, whether we are acting on behalf of a client or as acting in our capacity as a neutral, we help parties understand their differences and move forward on their own terms.
